Poem on how i feel about writing

Its like laying on a bed of sand
The satisfaction i feel when a castle is made by hand
This place this feeling.. Must it end?
The water washing up against my feet
The sun an inviting and warm cotton sheet
Its like dreading a trip back home
Agonizing and painfully packing my bags
Replacing my bikini and lightweight rags
For sweaters, boots and school bags
I feel the breeze again and ask God for one more day
In this paradise life i wish i could stay...
Dont make me leave and begin reality.

Pro-Life

Thesis:  To some, abortion is the easy way out of a life one isn't ready for; but in reality, it is a selfish act that ends a life because one believes it is the only action that can set them free from a motherhood their body biologically began because of their irresponsible actions.

Arguments:
- Fact I found that only 8% of abortions are because of incest, rape & other unfortunate happenings.
-President Obama's abortion laws now and how I believe they should be changed
-Abortion should be legal for only special cases

I still need to find out:
-A lot of information on the abortion laws today. How far they exceed, the limits of abortion, where in the U.S is abortion legal..where is it not?

Abortion Video - youtube

This video is on the history of abortion. Glen Beck is an interesting speaker so I figured though the topic is political and somewhat boring, he makes it exciting. He explains both sides of abortion views and how it's somewhat similar to the subject of slavery in the past.

Summary of my paper

With all of the facts I have gathered on both the pros and cons of abortion, I find myself consistently against the “easy way out”.  In my own opinion I know that abortion is necessary in certain circumstances, but to cover up a “mistake” caused by the irresponsibility of unsafe sex can only be described as a crime.  “What about me?”  I feel this is a question you have to ask yourself if you are deciding your side on abortion.  Have you ever slowed down and put yourself in the shoes of an aborted infant?  You simply can’t and what a shame, because I would trade anything for only an hour of time on our beautiful planet.  These children never get a chance to blink, or a right to give life a chance.  No, they simply get rejected their opportunity due to a parent that has better things to do.  Ask yourself, what if your life was halted only one month from childhood; which side would you find yourself on then?

Essay Topic

I'm choosing to do my paper on abortion. Abortion is  the termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to viability (wikipedia.)

Generally, abortion is favored by Democrats and not favored by Republicans. There are many issues linked to the topic of abortion, such as:

-Is it a woman's right to choose?
-Is it moral?
-Is it playing God?
ect.
I chose to do my topic on abortion because it's something everybody knows about and has very mixed feelings about. I thought it would be interesting to get into both sides of the controversy.

First Post

My name is Dana Hanrahan. I am pursing a degree in dental hygiene at Oakland Community College. My favorite color is yellow. I love volleyball and have coached middle school teams. I used to horseback ride for recreation. I also enjoy helping people and have been an avid volunteer at the Judson center for years.

Currently I live with my boyfriend and our two kittens Theodore and Nico. They're both girls but we didn't know they were at the time so we gave them male names and stuck with it since then. I work at Bed Bath and Beyond as a sales associate and love my job and my coworkers. I do not like cold weather. I used to travel to Florida a lot and adore the sunshine and humidity. I'm excited to get through schooling and become a hygienist, get married and start a family.
